The index on the web started in November 1993 with the Socialist
Review(SR) index and expanded to include the International Socialism
Journal(ISJ) and now the International Socialist Review(ISR). Although
the ISR is no longer in the International Socialist Tendency it
is being continued as it is a good source of information.
Once the index was established it became an obvious need to put
the text on the web in order to hot link from the index to the articles.
They take a lot of space and to reduce the cost are farmed out to
various 'free' sites. At the moment 9 sites are used. These have a habit
of disappearing off the web at the whim of the providers or as providers
go belly up.
The plan for the development of the site is to provide--eventually--
the SR text down to issue 150 and below that a graphic scan of the pages.
And for the ISJ text down to issue 50. This is likely to take some
years to complete at the current speed!
